Derbyshire VCH events and activities

Chesterfield and district local family, history and heritage fairOrganised by Chesterfield and District Family History Society, this popular event returns for 2024 but at a new venue – The Arkwright Centre, Hardwick Drive, Arkwright, Chesterfield, S44 5BS. To find out more use this link which will open a page on the family history society’s website. Alongside other organisations we will be having a stall at this event.
Admission is £2 (including two talks) and there’s plenty of free parking nearby. The centre is also on a frequent bus route to and from Chesterfield and Bolsover.
Refreshments will also be available at the venue.

VCH weekly research group.Our volunteer group meets weekly on Wednesdays, during term time, mainly researching Chesterfield and the surrounding townships. For further details contact our county editor.

Derbyshire VCH guided walks and other activities

Most summers Derbyshire VCH arranges a series of guided walks in Derbyshire. Details will be posted here.

Derbyshire VCH has an active volunteer research group, which meets in Chesterfield Library on Wednesday evenings.

The Derbyshire VCH Trust holds a yearly AGM during the summer. This includes a guest speaker.
